1952 Eames LCW Lounge Chair by Herman Miller

One of Charles and Ray's earliest and most famous designs, the LCW (or Lounge Chair Wood base) is the result of their experiments with bent plywood. The compound curves they imparted to the wood give this un-upholstered chair a surprising degree of comfort. The design was offered in a range of woods and finishes. This chair is of black aniline-dyed ash plywood. Well cared for its entire life by a single owner, it is in very good original condition including the single oval shock mount that connects the back to the spine. Dating from 1952, the chair is stamped on the bottom "LCW"
