The design of this high back easy chair by Peter Hvidt and Orla Mølgaard Nielsen for France & Son dates to 1953 and employs laminated layers of wood to form the elegantly curved arms to add strength while keeping them light. The front legs pierce the arms with a through tenon joint and the exposed joinery adds a refined detail. The airy, fluid design is very comfortable with the perfect seat pitch and terrific lumbar support.
