The first fiberglass Eames chairs were produced by Zenith Plastics and came in a limited palate of 5 colors including lemon yellow. The early Zenith shells are distinctive for their high fiber content and larger, more substantial rubber shock mounts, a translucent quality to the lighter colors and an imbedded rope at the edge of the fiberglass seat. RAR was the designation given chairs with the rocking base.

This fine rocker is all original and has all of the most desirable features: the lemon yellow shell has the rope edge and checkerboard Zenith label, the black wire base has birch runners in excellent original condition with a beautiful patina.
