The Pelican chair is an early and important design by Finn Juhl. First presented in 1940 Cabinetmakers' Guild Exhibition, it represented Juhl's deep interest in abstract modern art and cemented the relationship with Juhl and master craftsman Niels Vodder. Scarce few examples were originally created, and the design was only revived when One Collection re-released the Pelican chair in 2001 with the blessing of Juhl's estate. Not only visually arresting, the chair is also very comfortable.
This example features walnut legs supporting a body upholstered in a sienna colored leather and is in excellent condition.
