This beautiful sculpture by Thomas Hibben is a starburst form designed to hang from above like a mobile activating space near the ceiling seldom utilized. The bronze rods all have a small detail on the tips and gather in the center in a welded mass which also creates a line of division along the axis that adds visual interest. The piece has a compelling and changing appearance from every angle. The use of slender wire rods obviously invites comparisons to Harry Bertoia, but Hibben's work has a unique visual vocabulary. The sculpture hangs from a fine stainless steel wire.
