This charming little fox by sculptor Margot Kempe conveys so much personality with it's simplified, abstract modernist design.
German born Kempe (1898-1981) fled Nazis in her native Germany, eventually coming to America in 1947 where she studied at New School in NYC with Warden Day and taught at Greenwich House. Incised signature on bottom.
