Elinor McGuire designed this model M-59 occasional chair for McGuire of San Fransisco, the company she started with her husband John. Originally named the "Host" chair, it has become commonly called the "Target" chair due to the distinctive design of the back.

The only thing more impressive than the many subtle design details, is the quality of construction. McGuire furniture is made to last generations. The rattan frame is built with a proprietary process that includes wrapping the joints in rawhide, giving it a strength that belies its light weight.

This terrific set of 8 chairs is in very good original condition with only light signs of age and use. They have seat cushions upholstered in a rich textured silk fabric.

36"H x 24"W x 22"D seat: 19" arm" 25".
