This funky little table was acquired from the estate of a former Herman Miller employee. While there was much speculation about it possibly being a prototype, we have been handling vintage Herman Miller to not recognize that it is far more likely an example of employees creating their own unique designs with components available at work. The base is clearly legs from a Nelson DAF chair and the top is the same kind found on the Nelson pedestal side table. George Nelson frequently re-purposed components from one design for use in another, but without documentation we can not definitively state that it is the creation of anyone in the Nelson office. Still, it is a very cool little table with a scale similar to an Eames LTR and a wonderful sculptural quality.
