This exceptional vintage example of the Brazilian architect and designer's master work is visually stunning and incredibly comfortable. Designed in 1957, the chair took first prize at the IV Concorso Internazionale del Mobile competition in 1961. Originally nick-named the "Poltrona Mole" or "soft chair" due to it's decidedly relaxed style and large loose cushion, it later became known as the "Sheriff" chair. The leather cushion supported by leather straps and draped over the sculptural wood frame has a casual aesthetic that has become a trademark of Brazilian design. Expertly restored, this example has a rich chocolate brown natural leather and both chair and ottoman are marked with ISA labels.
