"Departure"

Oil Painting by Sacha Kolin

 

This powerful abstraction by Sacha Kolin circa 1954 and titled "Departure" is a rare larger oil on board. With a limited palate, a richly worked surface, and vivid animated shapes this expressive piece typifies her work from the period.

The painting is signed on the front UR and is framed in a period frame (possibly original to the piece) which is made of rare wormy chestnut wood.
