We love folk art and particularly tramp art. Made mostly by anonymous artists and craftsmen from discarded materials, the joy and creativity they convey in a functional object has a delightful character, and the elaborate, decorative surfaces and patterns are the perfect counterpoint to the clean-lined modern design we appreciate so much. 
 
This wonderful example is an intricately carved, two-tone, multi-layered footed box that has a hinged lid with a mirror on the underside and a green fabric-lined storage area. The carving and color of the box creates great depth. It's a charming piece with wonderful presence.
