Designed by Charles Rennie Mackintosh in 1904 for the Hill House in Helensburgh, near Glasgow, Scotland, the "Hill House 1 chair" is an icon of modern design which relates directly to the architecture of the house. 
 
This pair was produced by Cassina in the 1980s, they are made entirely of solid ash with seats upholstered in an emerald colored velvet.
