This table lamp by Edward Wormley is an exceedingly rare variation on the model 5410 by Dunbar. The model 5410 was produced with a couple base variations, but this example has several noteworthy differences. The first is scale. At 63" high and with a table top of 25" in diameter, this piece is much more substantial. The entire stem and base is brass rather than walnut with brass details, and the base is completely different from the typical model 5410. It has four legs rather than three, and has a more stark machined industrial aesthetic. The tray table has the same rich, highly figured Finnish birch center with a walnut surround. The shade is original to the lamp and is also quite handsome. It is covered in a screen printed fabric in an abstract floral. This is possibly a Jack Lernor Larsen design and the screen printing creates portions that are opaque while leaving other areas translucent. This quality creates strikingly different looks depending on whether the lamp is illuminated
