The metal frame of the LCM provides an overall visual lightness and gives the plywood seat and back a floating appearance. It combines Industrial materials in an original way making this iconic post-war design a timeless Classic. This rare example from 1951 has a solid steel frame, ash plywood seat and back and the early domes of silence foot glides. Of particular note is a pair of developmental metal mounts which date to this transitional period. They surround and strengthen the frame at the two front shock mounts beneath the seat. It is in good original condition with an age appropriate patina to all the components and is stamped with production date. A very nice vintage example.
