The "Spike" clock designed by Irving Harper for George Nelson assoc. and manufactured by Howard Miller is an icon of mid-century design spawning countless imitations, none as elegant and sophisticated as the original. While the "spike", along with the "ball" clock was one of the more popular models, this model #2230 is exceedingly more rare as it is the oversize version. Measuring 30" in diameter, it is a substantial statement piece that has terrific presence, even on a large wall. Black lacquered wood spikes radiate out from the brass center and the classic Harper designed hands have painted details.
