Here is a rare opportunity to own two early examples of the iconic design by Charles and Ray Eames, these 670 lounge chairs and matching 671 ottoman have been together since they were new in 1959. They represent the transition from first to second generation for the Eames lounge chair. They have down-filled cushions, rosewood shells, rubber spacers, and three-hole armrests, however they have screw-in dome of silence foot glides on the ottoman rather than slip-on boot glides.  The leather has a well-worn patina, attesting to the age of these vintage pieces. The down filling gives the chair not only great comfort, but also the look of a "well-worn first baseman's mitt" that Charles Eames famously wanted.

These two chairs are the type that an advanced collector who appreciates originality and wants examples that attests to years of use and enjoyment.
