The swag leg chair designs by the office of George Nelson were developed in response to his desire to create a chair with a beautiful "swagged" leg (one that tapers while it curves). The same fiberglass technology used to manufacture the famous Eames shell chairs was used to create the two-part seats.
 
While vintage examples are quite difficult to come by today, these chairs are back in production by Herman Miller, they feature the same elegant base, but  the fiberglass now is replaced by molded polypropylene.  This set of 6 chairs features white seats on chrome plated bases.
